Job Summary:

We are helping a growing General Contractor looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator with a strong background in ground-up construction from a general contractor's perspective. The ideal candidate will have estimating experience on ground up commercial projects.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate project blueprints, specifications, and documentation to understand scope and requirements.
• Interpret construction drawings and determine the materials, labor, and equipment needed for project execution.
• Conduct on-site assessments to gather relevant project details and identify potential challenges.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain precise cost information.
• Utilize estimating software and other tools to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates and proposals.
• Perform quantity take-offs and calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals to secure projects.
• Review subcontractor bids and analyze proposals to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to address project inquiries and clarifications.
• Maintain an updated database of material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing for reference.
• Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and budget analysis throughout the construction process.
• Monitor ongoing project costs and provide continuous cost evaluations.
• Stay informed on industry trends, new materials, and evolving technologies to enhance estimation accuracy and competitiveness.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering strategies.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing agreements.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of estimating experience at a General Contactor on projects over $5M in size
• Proven experience in commercial construction estimating with a focus on ground-up projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in reading and analyzing blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Compensation:

• Salary range: $100-140K annually depending on experience
