Senior Fabrication Engineer

HEICO Component Repair Group is currently seeking an experienced Engineer to work in its Miami Repair Station. In this position the Engineer will be responsible for:

• Repair fabrication projects from initial assessment through to final implementation.
• Analyze existing commercial aircraft components in order to reverse engineer them and develop equivalent parts with improved performance and cost savings.
• Manage and participate in all aspects of reverse engineering a product, develop documentation and provide fabrication and product support and technical instructions on time and within budget.

Skills/Education & Experience:

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in design specification, interpretation, dimensional tolerance analysis and must have an understanding of material properties for the purpose of reverse engineering commercial aircraft components.
• Must have knowledge of and experience with commercial aircraft part development including, but not limited to regulatory requirements and specifications.
• Demonstrated proficiency in developing drawings and 3D solid modeling using SolidWorks
• Experience with dimensional tolerancing methods including GD&T
• Hands on manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with the FAA PMA and STC process preferred.
