JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Film Development Engineer is to lead the development, optimization of blown film materials. This role requires expertise in polymer processing, extrusion techniques, and film characterization to drive innovation and enhance product performance. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure the seamless development and commercialization of high-performance film products.
JOB TASKS:
- Develop and optimize extruded film blends to align with market demands for performance and cost efficiency.
- Identify, test, and qualify films to enhance existing structures and support the development of new structures for target markets.
- Identify and implement opportunities to consolidate existing film blends, reducing costs and inventory.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth scale-up and commercialization of film products.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to maintain competitive advantages.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and technicians.
- Troubleshoot production challenges and recommend solutions to improve film processing and quality.
- Document and present findings, technical reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in all processes.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have a demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

REQUIRMENTS:
- Minimum Five (5) years' experience in a blown film extrusion environment
- Undergraduate degree in Process Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or Science or equivalent experience
PREFERRED:
- Experience working within a flexographic printing environment
- Experience in film development
- Experience in on-site customer support
