Purpose/Job Function:

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports. In addition, this position, this role is responsible for upholding our core values: Ethics, Engagement, and Excellence.

Essential Functions:
  • Support consolidated statutory reporting of legal entity financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Provide bridging details as required to support separate external tax books and return preparation
  • Provide proactive awareness to accounting regulatory and emerging issue pronouncements and promote adoption as required.
  • Issue accounting memos, development of footnotes and supplemental information, supporting successful annual independent audits.
  • Assume assigned Business Unit focused Record-To-Report (RTR) end-to-end responsibility, including management financial statements, KPI's and variance analyses. Maintain and support management reporting templates for assigned BU.
  • Full engagement with BU President and other Executive Leadership Team members with respect to past, present actuals as well as budgeted/forecasted future projections, risks and opportunities. Present monthly management reporting packages to BU/Executive Leadership Team with clear and confident understanding of variances in alignment with BU leadership.
  • Full responsibility for the preparation of assigned BU and assigned corporate ledger accounts, associated supporting models, periodic closing entries and reconciliations to ensure timely and controlled reporting.
  • Support other general accounting duties as may be assigned across multiple operating and legal entities and tax jurisdictions.
  • Support risk management objectives and needs of assigned BU and/or corporate-wide insurance.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
  • Special Projects or ad hoc analysis as assigned.


Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP
  • Track record of success in a GL environment with significant responsibilities related to balance sheet reconciliations, income statement preparation, variance analysis, KPI's and financial planning and analyses
  • Must be very proficient in Microsoft Excel at the high-intermediate or above level
  • ERP / large systems data experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with high level of speed and accuracy
  • Effective communications, presentation and organizational/time management skills


Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, required
  • 5 or more years accounting/finance experience required
  • CPA or MBA is a plus, not required


Working Conditions: This position will be sitting in front of a computer for long hours at a time and may cause eye irritation or even muscle strain.

This position does not require any strenuous or physical activity.

Customary Work Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends for special events.
