Acuity is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - Finance to support and provide backup for critical Finance, Investment and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) activities that are not directly involved in the production of financial statements. This role includes being the primary backup for the forecasting process including running and updating the system, analyzing output and reviewing reports, reviewing and coordinating investment performance documents and schedules, maintaining, creating and evaluating companywide ERM documentation and assisting with rating agency submissions/models.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in accounting with a high level of academic achievement. CPA license is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
5 to 7 years of property & casualty insurance accounting or finance experience. Experience with forecasting software and risk management is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform financial forecasting process for both statutory and GAAP financial statements. Assist in the development and analysis of monthly forecasts, multiple versions of the annual plan, and a five year plan. This includes forecasting for rating agency capital adequacy.
- This will require a thorough understanding of actual accounting processes and reporting for both statutory and GAAP financial statements in order to accurately forecast financial statements and key metrics for the same.
- Maintain the infrastructure/metadata of the planning system and assist in the testing and backup/recovery/update processes for the system. Maintain documentation for key forecasting processes.
- Work with internal staff to maintain, create and analyze documentation for Acuity's enterprise risk management (ERM) program. Prepare schedule of documents needed with deadlines; coordinate requests with Actuarial staff. Assist in the review and maintenance of Acuity's risk register.
- Gather exhibits and schedules for, update and review the annual ORSA (Own Risk Solvency Assessment) narrative and filing.
- Coordinate and assist with preparation of investment performance documents and other schedules; assist with impairment and CECL (current expected credit losses) evaluation process.
- Review monthly investment manager and other investment publications for current market and economic trends. Participate in quarterly bond manager calls.
- Assist with occasional RFP (requests for proposal) for finance areas including vendor evaluations, creation of questions, review of documents and summary of key benefits and costs as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of rating agency questionnaires and analysis of model output for capital adequacy and other key performance indicators.
- Help prepare the annual Risk Based Capital (RBC) exhibit.
- Assist with preparation of annual financial audit document requests or other audit requests as required.
- Assist with the annual update of the cost allocation study. This will require a thorough understanding of the statutory expense allocation process as well as the functions of departments at Acuity.
- Assist with preparation of complex year end and quarterly schedules.
- Assist the accounting staff (compliance, investment and/or financial reporting and tax) on projects or consultation as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledgeable in both statutory and GAAP property & casualty accounting principles.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) / Hyperion Planning or similar forecasting/planning software.
- Risk management knowledge and experience for a property & casualty insurance company.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills. Good understanding of general ledger and other accounting systems including reporting software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Word and Teams.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills are required.
- Ability to be proactive; this role requires the ability to effectively handle tasks or issues with minimum supervision.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Meet deadlines accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
