The Opportunity
Plannera is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Supervisor, Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Finance and Corporate Services team.
The Senior Financial Analyst position is responsible for the accounting, reporting, and analysis of Plannera's two largest pension plans (PEPP and MEPP). This position will ensure the accuracy of investment reporting from the pension plans' custodian, demonstrating knowledge on various asset classes including complex investments. It is a requirement for this position to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the pension Board and Commission, as well as to external stakeholders. As such, this position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
In addition, this position will provide leadership to the Financial Analysts, through analysis, review, and approval of daily, monthly and quarterly transactions as well as daily bank reconciliations. This position will also monitor the cash flows and all bank accounts for various pension and benefit plans to protect the financial assets of all plans and is expected to provide support to Plannera management for any projects that may arise.

Ideal Candidate
Typically, the successful candidate for this position will have:
- A Chartered Professional Accounting Designation (CPA; CPA, CA; CPA, CMA; CPA, CGA) or in the final stages of receiving a designation;
- A minimum of three years' work experience working in a financial analyst position, specifically working with annual financial statements and note disclosures; and
- Experience in a fast-paced, challenging environment with tight deadlines.
