Position Summary:

Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements financial models, conducts user requirement analysis to determine users' business needs, builds, tests, updates and maintains revenue and cost simulation models.
- Updates, maintains, reconciles, and upgrades the 10-year Capital Plan financial model.
- Develops, updates and maintains financial performance measurement financial models for all College's divisions.
- Supports capital budget processes by preparing, analyzing and inputting various budget data in the budget module for all Divisions.
- Updates capital budget data throughout the budget cycle, as well as during the financial year.
- Analyzes capital budget and actual variances and conducts year-to-year comparisons for major variances.
- Collects and interprets supplementary data from the academic divisions if/when required.
- Provides guidance, leadership and assistance to the budget holders and other Finance staff.
- Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting to ensure successful completion of budget process automation.
- Delivers training sessions relevant to Millennium Budget and Forecasting Module to end-users.
- Participates in process testing prior to implementation of Millennium and Banner enhancements, as well as other financial system procedures and modules.
- Prepares and analyzes capital budget financial data submission to the Ministry of Colleges & Universities (MCU) as required by MCU's College Financial Information System (CFIS).
- Works on special projects, as assigned by the Senior Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational andExperience Requirements:
- Four-year degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Finance, Accounting (with emphasis on product costing) or a related field.
- Completion of or senior level enrolment in a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program (or equivalent) is required.
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in financial and/or business analysis, including handling a large number of projects and work requests.
- Experience in capital budgeting and planning is required.
- Experience working with MS Office; advanced Excel skills (macros, VBA, pivot tables, Lookup functions), experience in reviewing and evaluating sophisticated technology systems and tools.
- Demonstrated experience with large and complex cross-functional projects, business analysis, financial and business modeling, data analytics/information systems and financial model design skills are required.
- Knowledge and practical experience applying costing methodologies is required.
- Knowledge of and experience working with ERP, financial reporting and budgeting systems.
- Experience in developing complex financial reports and models and communicating technical requirements to clients and team members.
