This position is part of the Expense CoE supporting the governance and administration of the global expense allocations and controls, department hierarchies, and line of business expense reporting. The Financial Consultant will be responsible for validating the accuracy of expense allocations, approving hierarchy and prorate change requests, supporting business partners in the development of prorates, and supporting ad hoc expense reporting. The role will work closely with a broad range of cross functional teams including system support, data governance, intercompany accounting, and various financial partners across the globe. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Expense team and build relationships with a broad range of groups.

The Financial Consultant plays a critical role in the expense allocation, budgeting, and data governance processes contributing to the accuracy of the financial reporting by legal entity and products. Success in this role requires attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and deliver results timely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop timely and accurate reporting packages of segment and legal entity expenses
  • Review post allocated results and research variances
  • Create intercompany allocation adjustment journals across entities and products
  • Manage the review and approval of global department hierarchy alignments and prorate changes
  • Drive data quality consistency and compliance through review and resolution of issues on the department hierarchies
  • Analyze post allocated expenses to support GAAP / STAT reporting and state audits
  • Maintain auditable supporting documentation for year-end, internal/external audits, and SOX compliance
  • Identify, implement, or strengthen internal controls in new and existing processes
  • Continually seek opportunities for improvement through simplification, automation, and AI tools


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, sum-ifs and other advanced formulas)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, multi-task

Preferred:
  • Proficient in financial systems and tools (Oracle, Essbase, etc)
  • Experience with Alteryx and AI tools
