The Education Funding Branch is seeking a highly skilled, analytical, self-motivated individual for the position of Senior Financial Policy Analyst.
The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker with strong analytical and conceptual skills and attentive to detail when addressing issues and recommending solutions. They will have strong interpersonal skills and experience in working in a client-service environment as they will be required to work with and build strong relationships with the school divisions in Saskatchewan.
The Ministry is responsible for ensuring that school divisions are financially accountable to the province, ratepayers, and other stakeholders for the funding they receive from the province and other sources. The successful candidate will ensure that school division financial budgeting and reporting practices appropriately address the information needs of Government and the public within the framework of public sector accounting standards (PSAS). They will also have a demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and deliver results while working in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented environment.
The successful candidate will possess a degree in commerce or business administration as well as a Chartered Professional Accountant designation and supervisory experience. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in preparing and/or reviewing PSAS financial statements, ideally with government organizations in Saskatchewan, such as provincial school divisions.
