Job Summary

The Senior Gas Storage Origination Representative is responsible for developing and maintain necessary external business relationships. This position develops new customer relationships and grows existing relationships to ensure profitability in line with the company's business plans, objectives and strategies. The successful candidate will build a dynamic footprint and collaborate on daily, monthly, seasonal, annual, and multi-year storage agreements, customer development, storage balancing services and new storage development and acquisition opportunities proactively.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and manage business with a focus on key customer relationships.
  • Cultivate a key book of business serving as the lead deal maker.
  • Contract storage services in alignment with company objectives.
  • Identify and develop regional Storage fundamentals across various regions to report and use for targeted growth opportunities
  • Develop strategic plans for specific regions.
  • Serve as internal and external expert and sponsor in market areas of interest.
  • Understand legal, regulatory, and structuring concepts impacting customer and market development.
  • Model target market natural gas utilization and growth needs and develop strategies and solutions to serve them.
  • Develop and present customer presentations for growth opportunities for the storage business and provide updates with other assets/regions of the company.
  • Ability to persevere during the development and introduction of new products, geographies and services as part of a performance-based organization that values input and challenge from all team members impacted.
  • Work collaboratively with the VP of Storage, Originators, Gas Scheduling and other assigned teams.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience, preferably in the energy industry, with sales, finance, marketing, trading, origination, account management, scheduling and/or gas control
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Other Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of the physical natural gas grid.
  • Understanding of financial tools available to manage risks associated with deal structures and harvesting of embedded optionality.
  • Demonstrated success growing critical mass over multi-month and multi-year intervals.
  • Excellent oral and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based software applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both in a business office setting and at an asset location or project site. While working at an asset location or project site, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, uneven or steep terrain and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration (see physical requirements above). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office but, may become loud at the project site.
