About The Opportunity

Working as an integral part of the Nexwsyetsem Communications and Engagement Department, the Senior Graphic Designer & Web Developer, will be responsible for designing compelling visual content, developing comprehensive brand guidelines, and maintaining a modern, responsive, and user-friendly website. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all visual and digital assets align with the organization's strategic goals and deliver an impactful user experience. This role also involves mentoring junior team members, monitoring website performance using analytics tools, and ensuring that all digital platforms adhere to accessibility and SEO standards. Key contributions of this role to the department includes: Shaping and maintaining Squamish Nation's visual identity and digital footprint, Leads creative projects from concept to execution across various media, ensuring consistent, high-quality brand representation across all communication channels. The role will drives data-informed improvements to enhance digital engagement and user experience. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, values collaboration, and is driven by creativity and innovation.

What You Bring
  • Combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven record of accomplishment of anticipating needs and demands at all levels of a project.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and agile; can adapt to complexity and work in an ever-changing environment with ease.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind.
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing both design and web development projects.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices
  • High level of empathy, emotional intelligence, humility, and the capacity to give and receive feedback.
  • Understanding of issues affecting Indigenous communities.
  • Team-oriented with a tactful and approachable attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Independent and self-motivated; demonstrates a strong ability to manage and execute their own work.
  • Team player who leads by example and goes the extra mile to ensure projects are delivered within deadlines.
  • Respectful of confidentiality and handles sensitive information with care.

Salary: $ 76,499 - $ 85,634 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program
