Job Description

Be a key contributor to an exciting software company!

CareerPlug provides innovative recruiting and HR software for over 30,000 growing companies. Our applicant tracking and paperless onboarding platforms help companies make better hires to have the right people in place to build a successful business.

We believe that people are the heart of our business and are committed to building one of the best places to work --anywhere. To us, that means putting care and purpose into our hiring process, providing meaningful development and training opportunities for our team members, and living our core values every day.

CareerPlug is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse team. Our leadership takes responsibility for creating a safe and welcoming environment built on inclusion and respect for all.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a Senior Growth Product Manager (SGPM) to join our Product & Engineering team! As a SGPM you will be responsible for ensuring the adoptability of our products. Unlike traditional PMM roles, where involvement starts post-development, you will be engaged from day one of designing through every stage of the product life cycle.

If product adoption declines you're expected to know why and we trust you to address the issue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering value that clients will try - by actively participating in shaping (designing) the solutions we will build and ensuring every feature is driving optimal outcomes.
  • Help clients buy the right plan for them by making sure they know how to upgrade and why they should upgrade (plan expansion) and see how many trials are converting.
  • Master client and partner relationships by participating in client interviews and truly understanding their jobs-to-be-done. Manage the Customer Advisory Board (CAB) and ensure the success of our early adopter program (Labs).
  • Ensure that the front of the house is heard by excavating market insights and leading and executing major launches along with sales and marketing.

  • We work in a quad model that emphasizes equality and collaboration, with no single leader dictating direction (like in traditional product organizations where the PM might be in this role). Decisions on what to build and accountability for outcomes are shared among the four quad roles: Product Manager, Tech Lead, Product Designer, and Senior Growth Product Manager (YOU!).

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales and marketing to ensure the product is continuously delivering value that clients and partners love and works for the business.

If you've read this far, we're sure you realized that this is not a very common position. It blends the responsibilities of both product marketing and product management. Curious what this role will not be doing. Interested in learning more?

You should be passionate about helping customers achieve success with CareerPlug and transforming them into evangelists.

For extreme clarity, we want to highlight some differences between traditional Product Marketing and this Senior Growth Product Manager position. Traditional Product Marketing has some common expectations that we'll rely mostly on our marketing team to deliver:

    • Marketing will "own" sales enablement (and we'll help give the ingredients such as new feature positioning, and solution-focus competitive intel which marketing will use to help deliver final battle cards, etc)
    • Marketing will "own" customer acquisition (we'll focus more on trial conversion, expansion, and retention).
    • Exec team "owns" pricing/packaging (however marketing, product, and customer-facing teams will all be consulted)

    Benefits:

    • 100% Remote Company!
    • Employer Paid Health Insurance
    • Dental & Vision Insurance
    • 401(K) Employer Match
    • Pet Insurance
    • Long-Term Disability
    • Unlimited PTO (with minimums!)
    • One-week paid PTO (prestart date)
    • 100% Employer Matched Donations
    • Life Insurance

Remote: As of March 2020, our formerly Austin-based team has been working fully remotely. We have transitioned to a company forever. This role may be filled by any U.S.-based candidate.

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role with a base salary of $125,000 and an additional $10,000 in annual bonus potential, paid quarterly.

CareerPlug believes in equitable and transparent compensation practices. All our employees have access to what every role pays at the company. We post compensation on all our job postings. In order to ensure equitability and fairness for candidates and current employees, we always lead at our best and don't negotiate offers
