The Senior HR Technology Business Analyst is responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of all HR Information Systems. The Analyst provides a deep and broad expertise of HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Pension Administration processing procedures, production schedules, inputs and outputs to ensure operational execution and to successfully support and implement design changes/ enhancements. The Analyst leverages the PeopleSoft modules, new features and functionality to support business requirements and leads projects relating to continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements and HR operational activities. The Analyst also serves as subject matter expert and first line technical support, providing support to HRIS Records Analysts, HR Business Partners, payroll and other stakeholders.

What You'll be Doing
- Working with IT to identify system impacts and applying enhancements/modifications / upgrades for existing systems;
- Acting as the HRIS technical lead for HRIS system(s) and responsible for functional documentation, testing, implementation of system changes, training of end users; liaising with departments to support interfaces between the HRIS and other systems;
- Acting as the Project Lead for HRIS projects including setting priorities, managing deadlines, coordinating resources, managing cross-functional teams;
- Responsible for HRIS support, troubleshooting, documentation (i.e. developing system and user documentation, controls and operational procedures), security, analytics and reporting (i.e. query, SQL, or XML code);
- Making recommendations on the strategic and efficient management of HRIS system(s); maintaining application specific security functions and controls (i.e. investigating privacy breaches); serving as a potential witness during security investigations, if necessary;
- Initiating enhancements/modifications to systems and processes to increase productivity and working with others to evaluate new technologies;
- Maintaining a complete understanding of the primary HRIS systems and integration with other systems;
- Keeping abreast of current developments in technology, collective agreements and best practices;
- Performing other related duties and special projects, as needed.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:
- 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Payroll (preferably), Computer Science or Information Technology
- 5 years of experience as a senior practitioner (Business Analyst) within an HR or Payroll department, including payroll processing experience on an in-house HRIS system (equivalency to be considered)
- Knowledge of relational database management systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) will be considered asset
- Proficient in PeopleQuery, SQL, HR and modules of PeopleSoft (Payroll, Workforce Admin, Time & Labour, Absence Management)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills with ability to manipulate data accurately
- HRIS application process design, development, testing and implementation experience
- Report writing / production (SQL) experience - including handling and manipulating ad-hoc data requests
- Experience writing functional business specification documentation
- Experience as a lead resource on projects and /or experience facilitating teams
- Skills/experience with HRMS XML SQL Peopletools will be considered asset
