We are currently seeking a Senior HUD Closer for our Multifamily Lending team. This role is primarily responsible for closing HUD loans, with the additional capability to close Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans. The Senior HUD Closer will lead all aspects of loan closings, including document preparation, review and coordination with counsel, borrowers and investors.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of HUD loan closings, with the ability to handle Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac closings as needed including:
  • Manage the timely receipt and preparation of required information and documents for closing;
  • Collaborate closely with counsel to prepare and review all necessary loan documents, with a focus on HUD-specific requirements; and
  • Obtain and verify all necessary documents for closing statements and initial draws, particularly for HUD transactions.
  • Demonstrate expert-level comprehension and interpretation of Underwriter's Narratives and Loan Analyses, with a particular focus on HUD-specific issues and requirements.
  • Arrange loan fundings, including coordination with appropriate warehouse lenders.
  • Review, track and manage all Lender and Investor commitments, with a deep understanding of HUD commitment requirements and processes.
  • Issue and oversee JLL's loan commitments and confirmations, ensuring compliance with HUD standards.
  • Lead the team in the successful delivery of all loan packages, with a particular emphasis on HUD delivery requirements.
  • Work directly with the various agencies to securitize and provide necessary closing documentation post-closing to finalize the mortgage-backed security to the investor.
  • Oversee the delivery of permanent loan files to servicing, construction servicing and asset management departments.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in HUD closing processes and best practices.
  • Travel as required for closings and industry events.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business related field (Finance, Accounting, Real Estate)
  • 5+ years of closing experience, with a strong focus on HUD multifamily loan closings
  • Demonstrated expertise in HUD multifamily loan programs and closing requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • In-depth knowledge of HUD with the ability to learn and understand the Various Investor Programs as it relates to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technology
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and lead teams in high-pressure situations
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with HUD regulations and industry trends


Estimated total compensation for this position:

125,000.00 - 145,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
