Description:

We are looking for an energetic, deeply committed and experienced Senior Human Resources Advisor to become a part of our team. The versatile role reports directly to the Director Human Resources and is pivotal to our company's success.

The Senior Human Resources Advisor will oversee a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including recruitment, training, and managing union and employee relations. You will be responsible for managing, processing, and maintaining confidential employee records, files, correspondence, forms, and other documents. Additionally, this role involves preparing various reports and correspondence through meticulous data research and analysis.

The Senior Human Resources Advisor will also lead and participate in key HR projects aimed at improving organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction. Delivering exceptional customer service to employees is essential for thriving in this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Full cycle recruitment: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Consulting and advising Managers on disciplinary/non-disciplinary matters and departmental trends.
  • Employee Relations: Handle employee inquiries, concerns, and conflicts, providing guidance and support to maintain a positive work environment.
  • HR Policies and Compliance: Collaborate with the Director, Human Resources to ensure that
  • HR policies and procedures comply with federal and provincial laws and regulations.
    Performance Management: Support performance appraisal processes, feedback, and goal setting.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and data, ensuring compliance.
  • Leaves and Accommodations: Manage employee leaves, such as medical or family leaves, and facilitate reasonable accommodations when necessary.
  • Legal Compliance: Stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations in British Columbia to ensure the organization's compliance.
  • Termination and Exit Procedures: Handle employee terminations, ensuring they are conducted in compliance with applicable employment laws.
  • HR Administration: Handle various administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork, managing employee databases, and responding to HR-related inquiries.
  • Engagement and Culture: Collaborate with the HR team and Operations to provide support on activities to create a "raving culture"

Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources from an accredited institution, PMP or bachelor's degree in business administration
  • CPHR certification in good standing
  • Minimum 8 years experience at a Human Resources Generalist or Business Partner level for multi-location organization
  • Minimum 5 years experience of Labour Relations (Union) experience
  • Experience implementing HRIS systems, programs and complex human resource programs
  • Senior level understanding of Payroll laws and obligations
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated with a strong capability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep organized
  • Able to take direction and follow through completion
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
