How will you contribute to our success as a Human Resources Business Partner?

The primary purpose of this role is to act as an HR business partner to support the company's strategy, objectives, and values by implementing human resources programs and policies in alignment with CSL's strategy. The incumbent serves as the key resource for managers and employees within a designated client group on all HR matters, including employee relations, engagement, coaching, and compensation.
  • Supporting managers with HR strategies:
    Advise managers on all HR-related matters in connection with their daily operations and management decisions. Provide appropriate HR recommendations to achieve maximum efficiency in reaching targeted objectives (recruitment, transfers, promotions, reorganization, succession planning), while ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees. Participate in the recruitment and selection process.
  • Coaching managers and employees:
    Advise managers and employees to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures. Support managers in handling disciplinary cases, action plans, and performance review follow-ups.
  • Assisting managers with HR programs:
    Ensure proper management of HR programs and processes, such as performance management, annual salary increase process, and talent review process.
  • Employee engagement:
    Analyze employee engagement data via the Workleap platform. Support managers by proposing initiatives to improve results.
  • Investigator - Workplace Harassment Complaints:
    Responsible for managing the investigation procedure for workplace harassment complaints for both seafaring and non-seafaring personnel.
  • Contributing to HR program development:
    Participate in the development and deployment of programs and processes in compliance with CSL standards (benefits, job evaluations, salary reviews, internal transfers, training, career development, recruitment, etc.). Provide coaching and necessary support to the HR team. Encourage information sharing, knowledge exchange, best practices, and experiences within the team.

The skills you bring to our team as a Human Resources Business Partner:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or an equivalent field.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team spirit and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and manage confidential information.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite).
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience as a generalist.
  • CHRP designation (an asset).
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
