Job Description:
Direct Counsel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Income Tax Associate with 6 or more years of substantive tax experience, with a focus on transactional tax matters. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the tax aspects of M&A and/or real estate transactions, including managing junior associates and paralegals while maintaining significant client interaction.
This role places a heavy emphasis on pass-through entities and C-Corporation planning, including QSBS and irrevocable trust structuring within M&A transactions, family office planning, real estate ventures, estate planning transactions, internal restructurings, litigation, and employment disputes.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000 - $255,000, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.

Key Qualifications:
- Strong background in transactional tax law, including M&A and real estate tax matters
- Experience managing tax-related aspects of complex transactions
- Strong academic credentials and excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Large law firm experience preferred
- LL.M. in Taxation is highly desirable
- Admission to the State Bar of California is required
Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000 - $255,000, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
