Position Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Financial Systems/PMO will help manage accounting system integrations and continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial systems with experience in implementation, project management, and a good understanding of financial processes. This role involves assisting in planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines. Additionally, this position will serve as the administrator for various accounting tools, including the ERP system (NetSuite). The responsibilities include supporting the design and configuration of interfaces between external systems and ERP systems, as well as efforts to modify and automate system functionality. The successful candidate will be part of a growing, agile accounting team and may be called upon to support other functions as needed. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Systems:
- Serve as ERP administrator for accounting needs such as changes to account structure, opening/closing of accounting ledgers and subledgers, and evaluation and granting of ERP access rights.
- Support the gathering of business requirements for the design and implementation of new processes by collaborating with operations and IT management, including customization of workflows within NetSuite ERP.
- Ensure the full and optimal utilization of ERP system capabilities and functionality, making recommendations for improved use of the system.
- Test all new or modified interfaces between the ERP system and external systems to ensure proper control and functionality.
- Create detailed process documentation and workflows to ensure a proper understanding of system interfaces and data flows.
- Provide proactive and insightful recommendations across functions to improve internal control procedures, increase audit efficiency, and drive process optimization, focusing on system operations, change management, security and access rights, financial applications, and interfaces with external technologies.
- Support and educate employees on system functionality and processes related to internal control compliance, including assisting IT with control requirements to mitigate risks.
Project Management:
- Assist in financial systems integrations and accounting improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Identify accounting process bottlenecks and areas for improvement, creating strategic solutions using system automations and lean initiatives to optimize efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather project requirements, create detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations based on findings.
- Track key integration milestones, deliverables, and performance indicators to ensure timely progress and successful outcomes.
- Hold regularly scheduled progress meetings with key stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project deliverables and resolution of any outstanding issues or potential bottlenecks.
- Identify and resolve integration and process-related issues, developing effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to minimize disruption and facilitate the adoption of new processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Software Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. A master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in financial systems and project management, including financial systems implementations and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.). NetSuite experience is required.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills, efficiently handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience in developing and managing cross-functional or multi-teamwork plans.
