This transformative and strategic initiative will bring all USNH institutions together in one fully integrated system with the goals to improve cross campus collaboration, drive system wide efficiencies and provide a user-friendly experience for students, faculty, and staff. Ideal candidates have experience implementing complex IT projects in Higher Education. Workday or other ERP implementation experience preferred.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for management, planning, and implementation of university system wide complex IT projects that are large in scope, budget, organizational impact and have high risk.
- Applies best practices in project management, such as those in the PMBOK Guide, to assure outcomes that fulfill project goals within scope, schedule, cost and quality parameters.
- Fosters project management by mentoring project managers both within and outside of the Project Management Office.
- Through the use of Lean principles and tools advance a culture of Continuous Incremental Process Improvement.
- Manages University System IT-wide projects.
- Applies best practices in project management, such as those in the PMBOK Guide, to assure outcomes that fulfill project goals within scope, schedule, cost and quality parameters.
- Perform portfolio planning for IT related projects across the University System.
- Partners with project sponsor to define projects objectives, scope, schedule and budget.
- Also partners with various internal and external departments to ensure effective teamwork in the planning, development, operation and support of assigned projects.
- Establishes project charter and plan, including success criteria.
- Establishes and coordinates project team.
- Leads project meetings and manages team members to ensure objectives are achieved within prescribed timeframe and budget.
- Working with resource managers and project team estimate resource requirements, develop project plans and scheduling for projects.
- Assesses project risks and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client-satisfaction levels.
- Tracks and reports project progress with respect to baselined time, budget and target vs. actual business results.
- Communicates and provides project progress reports for executive project sponsors.
- Manages appropriate change control procedures and processes.
- Maintains technical/functional documentation for accuracy and clarity. Implements effective communication strategies to meet the needs of project stakeholders.
- Manages vendor relations and assures contractual fulfillment as required.
- Analyze existing business practices and implement process improvements within assigned projects.
- Fosters project management by mentoring project managers both within and outside of the Project Management Office.
- Develop institution wide project management standards and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Project Management or related field, and five years of experience as a Project Manager, or a combination of education and experience equal to twelve years.
- Experience in managing cross-functional IT projects of moderate complexity and impact.
- Experience in leading merger and integration projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of PMBOK or Prince2 as well as Agile, and or other Iterative or predictive methodologies, processes, and tools.
- Ability to analyze project data for governance and compliance against key process indicators such as: project objectives, deliverables, schedule, cost, scope, and quality.
- Experience in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, quality reports.
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate business and technical objectives and requirements as they relate to project goals.
- Ability to analyze portfolio data for governance and compliance against key process indicators.
- Experience with Finance Management within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Workday.
- Experience with related project management software (e.g., MS Project, TeamDynamix).
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to negotiate with clients, staff and outside vendors as required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, facilitation, presentation and consensus building skills.
- Experience in business process analysis and process redesign methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma a plus.
