Responsible for improving vendor relationships, supervising IT purchase order and invoice processes, analyzing spending and resource data, and facilitating IT organizational strategies. Identify technology opportunities, design and implement IT solutions, manage strategic IT vendor relationships, and analyze and report vendor performance to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Assist the Senior Manager, IT VMO Operations, and Supplier Performance Management Office (SPMO) departments by managing the request/contract process, purchase order/invoice workflow and approvals, report and metrics management, staff augmentation program, and project and RFx requests/proposals. Develop and automate reports, models, KPIs, and dashboards using data from various sources.

Ensure best practice use of applications by keeping abreast with technology to ensure optimal performance of applications in the IT VMO. Improve systems and processes by studying current practices, workflows and suggesting modifications.

Support the SPMO by organizing vendor spotlight town halls and IT-wide lunch n' learns to showcase IT VMO initiatives and programs that aid the Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for supplier relations.

Collaborate with functional owners and department leadership through business requirements process as needed such as answering scope questions, business use cases, project intakes, technology scopes, ensuring requirements are aligned to scope/future state process, and ensuring business approvals are gathered.

Collaborate with the IT department's Financial Analyst, to accurately identify, verify, and report cost savings to the CIO and Business Engagement Partners.

Understand business teams, stakeholders, gaps/friction & pain points to better support and lead documentation of business strategy, business future state models, business process flows, process flow maps, user experience maps, and other similar business artifacts.

Influence and train the adoption of business relationship management processes and behaviors.

Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while reducing total cost of ownership.

Works to build and deliver appropriate training & communication within the IT VMO as well as to outside the VMO stakeholders.

Nature and Scope
  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years' analyst experience in an IT vendor environment.
  • Experience reporting on vendor performance metrics.
  • Proven project management and process improvement skills.
  • Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Contract Management systems.
  • Expertise using Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, slicers, and arrays.
  • Strong Microsoft Visio skills to provide process mapping for the IT VMO policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Power BI or other business intelligence software.


This position may be remote, or hybrid based on location. Eligible candidates residing in the greater Atlanta area will be asked to work two days a week in our Doraville, GA Field Support Center.
