The Public Service Commission is the central human resource agency for the Government of Saskatchewan. The Commission works with ministries to ensure effective workforce management by supporting delivery of foundational services such as staffing and classification, and strategic support including labour relations and organizational development.
The Employee and Labour Relations Branch of the Commission represents the government and certain agencies, boards and commissions in the negotiation of collective agreements and provides employee and labour relation services to management.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position is obtained through a bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited university (e.g., a degree in Labour Relations, Business Administration, Commerce, Law, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field is desirable) with significant experience in Labour Relations and Human Resources.

As the Senior Labour Relations Consultant your responsibilities will include:
- daily use of your knowledge of trends and practices in collective bargaining, dispute/grievance resolution methodology and practice, Saskatchewan's labour relations issues and labour and employment legislation;
- being responsible for grievance resolution and arbitration, negotiations, contract administration and interpretation;
- focusing on arbitration, drawing on your knowledge of arbitration preparation and presentation; and,
- being actively involved in workplace health and safety, labour and employment legislation and human resource policy issues in the public service.

- knowledge of trends and practices in collective bargaining, dispute/grievance resolution methodology and practice;
- knowledge of Saskatchewan's labour relations issues and trends;
- knowledge of Saskatchewan labour and employment legislation;
- the proven ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytic, and problem-solving skills;
- a solid track record of building and maintaining credible, collaborative relationships by understanding, involving, engaging, and communicating to diverse clients and stakeholder groups;
- the ability to be persuasive and tactful, and have well-developed written and oral communication, influencing and strong consultative skills; and,
- experience with arbitration and collective bargaining processes.
