Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

The Senior Loan Closer ensures the accurate preparation and execution of loan documents for a seamless closing of mortgage loans. This role involves managing complex closing scenarios and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and other relevant parties to handle complex and high-value loan closings, ensuring a timely and accurate closing process. Schedule closings and coordinate with all involved parties to ensure everyone is prepared.
  • Prepare all necessary loan documents, including the promissory note, deed of trust, and other required paperwork. Review loan packages to verify the accuracy and completeness of documentation, including but not limited to: LLCs, CEMAs, Co-Ops, NQM, Conventional and FHA.
  • Ensure all loan documents meet internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards. Conduct thorough reviews of closing packages to address any discrepancies or outstanding items.
  • Work closely with the funder to facilitate a seamless funding process. Verify that all closing conditions are met before authorizing the disbursement of funds.
  • Mentor and provide guidance as needed to junior members of the Closing team.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to borrowers, internal teams, and external partners. Address inquiries, provide clarifications, and assist in resolving any issues related to the closing process.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all closing activities, ensuring proper documentation of loan transactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline and enhance the closing process. Collaborate with team members and management to ensure efficient workflows and best practices.
  • Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent); OR associate degree and two (2) years of experience in functional area; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience in functional area.
  • Additional three (3) years+ of progressive experience in functional area.


Additional Job Requirements:
  • Proven skills and experience with mortgage loan products and documentation requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compliance regulations governing mortgage lending and loan processing
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office 365 and the following technology: Loan Origination Systems (LOS), document management software, Encompass. DocMagic experience preferred.
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education, certifications, etc. as applicable to advancing in the organization.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to speak confidently.
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change daily, and where employees wear many hats.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think "outside the box" and prioritize tasks and decisions in a timely manner.
  • Self-directed, yet effective working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Responsive and customer-focused with a demonstrated use of professional judgment.

Benefits

This role's annual base salary range is $74,000 - $95,000.
