Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership, optimize maintenance operations, and ensure equipment reliability within our facility. This role requires in-depth expertise in maintenance best practices, troubleshooting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The SME will serve as a key resource for the maintenance team, driving efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise & Support
  • Serve as the primary expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues.
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Process Optimization
  • Analyze maintenance workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Recommend and integrate industry best practices for asset management and reliability.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory management to ensure availability without excess costs.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, ISO 45001, and industry safety regulations.
  • Develop and enforce maintenance procedures in line with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 55001 standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to improve workplace safety.
Training & Mentorship
  • Provide hands-on training and mentorship to maintenance personnel.
  • Develop training materials, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and best practice guidelines.
  • Guide technicians in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and equipment optimization techniques.
Reliability Engineering & Continuous Improvement
  • Utilize Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Implement Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance equipment design and maintainability.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTTR, MTBF, and OEE to drive improvements.
  • Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and downtime trends.
  • Recommend capital investments for long-term reliability and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset management within manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or industrial facilities.
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis).
  • Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Six Sigma principles.
Soft Skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities for training and mentoring teams.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and safety teams.
Work Environment:
  • Industrial or manufacturing facility setting with hands-on involvement in maintenance activities.
  • Occasional travel required for audits, training, and implementation of best practices.
