The Position
RETIREMENT - PERS
CalPERS 2.7% @ 55 (Classic Members) or CalPERS 2% @ 62 (New members). The employee pays the full employee portion of the retirement contribution, and the City does not participate in Social Security.
All employees will contribute the equivalent of $85 per month to offset CalPERS Unfunded Accrued Liability costs. The employee contributions made pursuant to this Employee CalPERS Response Giveback Plan will be coordinated as a pre-tax contribution. Lastly, the employee contributions made pursuant to this Employee CalPERS Response Giveback Plan will be considered part of the employee contribution towards CalPERS retirement system costs.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
The City offers a cafeteria benefit allowance of $1,600 / month for use towards enrolling in any of the City offered health, dental, and vision plans. Any employee that wishes to cash out their cafeteria allowance shall receive 25% of the allowance as taxable income or deferred compensation.
DENTAL INSURANCE
Delta Dental Plans are available for employee and eligible dependents.
VISION INSURANCE
Vision provided through VSP is available for employee and eligible dependents.
LONG TERM DISABILITY & SHORT TERM DISABILITY
Benefits equal 60% of employee's base salary for qualified periods
LIFE INSURANCE
The City provides a life insurance policy of 1x the employees annual salary for a maximum of $100,000.
SICK LEAVE
Accrue at eight (8) hours per month, with unlimited accrual; new employees shall be eligible to bring with them up to 250 hours of sick leave from their prior employer, so long as a new employee's prior employer did not compensate the employee for their sick leave.
VACATION
100 hours of annual vacation accrual, increasing up to 200 hours based on years of service.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION
Income may be deferred on a pre-tax and/or post-tax basis through Nationwide based on IRS Regulations. The City will contribute $50 per month to deferred compensation. The employee must contribute an equal amount in order to receive this match.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT & ANNUAL EDUCATION BONUS
Tuition reimbursement is available upon completion of probationary period. Additionally, completion of a degree entitles an employee to an annual bonus:
AA: $275 / year
BA: $425 / year
MA: $575 / year
Ph.D: $725 / year

BILINGUAL PAY
Bilingual pay stipend of $125 per month is available to those who regularly utilize a second language and/or sign language during employment.
