General Statement of Duties

Performs highly responsible professional staff duties involving the planning, study, development, management and implementation of projects for the improvement of various County, agency, or section operations; does related work as required.

Essential Duties

The Education Coordinator designs, implements, and oversees educational programs, including curriculum development, instructor training, student assessment, and program management, ensuring alignment with educational standards and goals. This position collaborates with administrators, teachers, and stakeholders to create effective learning experiences. This position will oversee the development and implementation of a new Henrico County Program focusing on reducing community risk through engaging adults in an educational program that is designed to reduce speeding and it's associated risks.

Key responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development: Design and update educational content, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and standards.
  • Program Implementation: Coordinate program delivery, manage schedules, and assign instructors.
  • Student Assessment: Monitor student progress, analyze data for improvement opportunities, and implement interventions as needed.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with administrators, parents, community groups, and others to ensure program effectiveness and alignment with goals.
  • Resource Management: Oversee program budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and seek funding opportunities.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to educational regulations and standards.
  • Marketing and Outreach: Promote programs to attract participants and raise awareness.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a bachelor's degree in public administration or a field directly related to the position and program/agency to which assigned, plus three (3) years of responsible directly related work experience (preferably including some supervisory experience), or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Additional Information

This position requires a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.

Teaching or training experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree in education, curriculum development, or a relevant field preferred.
