Summary

The EHS Planning Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, coordination, and development of EHS programs across the organization. This role ensures that EHS objectives are met throughout the year. The EHS Planning Manager collaborates with various departments to develop long-term and short-term plans that drive safety performance and regulatory compliance.

Compensation Range
  • $118,000 - $134,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation of EHS policies, procedures, and standards to improve safety and environmental practices
    • Monitor and stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations affecting the company's EHS practices
    • Ensure that Port/VPC/FF comply with environmental, health, and safety laws, and standards (ISO 45001/ISO14001)
    • Oversee the risk assessment process and collaborate with EHS Operation team to ensure that preventive measures are in place to mitigate potential hazards
    • Maintain and improve EHS management systems, ensuring they are consistently applied across all locations
    • Conduct regular internal audits
    • Ensure EHS reports including OSHA reports and Environment State filings are submitted on time
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans for potential EHS incidents, ensuring preparedness at all levels
    • Coordinate the response to significant incidents, including reporting, investigating, and tracking corrective actions
    • Partner with other departments such as operations, HR, and procurement to ensure the integration of EHS objectives into day-to-day functions
    • Support project management teams with risk assessments and ensure EHS considerations are addressed in new projects or initiatives
    • Develop training programs on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices for employees at all levels
    • Stay informed of industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovations in EHS planning and management
    • Maintain all EHS related permits/licenses
  • Maintain industry knowledge via participation in seminars and course work
    • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
  • Associate's Degree Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 7- 10 Years of Experience in EHS Required
  • 8-15 Years of Experience in Procurement, Contract Management, and/or Freight Forwarding Preferred
  • Supervisory Experience Required
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards Required
  • CSP, ASP, OHST, SMS certificate or license Preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
  • Possibility of travel - 25%
  • Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
  • Stand/walk
