SUMMARY:
The Director of Research & Development leads the organization's innovation efforts by overseeing the development of new products, enhancing existing ones, and guiding product redesigns. They evaluate the feasibility and potential of projects, set strategic goals, and ensure the company meets its research and development objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Product Innovation: Oversee the development of new products and improvements to existing ones.
Strategic Planning: Set and align R&D goals with Robertet's long-term objectives.
Evaluate Feasibility: Assess the practicality and potential market success of products in development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, production, and sales, to ensure alignment and success of R&D projects.
Project Management: Ensure timely execution of R&D initiatives while managing resources efficiently.
Monitor Industry Trends: Stay informed on market trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all R&D activities comply with regulations and maintain product quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Background: BS or MS in Food Science
Experience: 10+ years of experience in research and development (flavor development, oleoresins research, natural colors experience and natural antioxidants knowledge), with a proven track record of leading successful product development projects.
Leadership Experience: Prior experience in managing R&D teams and projects, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of the industry, technologies, and innovation processes.
Project Management Skills: Proficiency in managing large-scale projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timelines.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills in product design and development.
Industry Knowledge: Up to date with trends, regulations, and competitive landscape in the sector.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting findings to executives.
Language: Bilingual in French is an asset.
