The Senior Manager, Business Management for Product Management is a critically important role, enabling the SVP of Product Management, and their leadership team to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders by driving business operations, internal communications and strategic initiatives that cut across the organization.
This is a highly strategic and facilitative position that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. The role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation and an understanding of how to drive effectiveness and transformation at scale, who can serve as trusted counsel to the SVP of Product Management.

Pay Range Details

Washington: $110,000 - $210,000 Annually

A day in the life...
Communications:
- Drive internal communications strategy, events and initiatives. Work with key partners such as HR and Strategy to deliver a communications plan that will include a heavy focus on change management, employee engagement, strategic vision and priorities. Practice various methods of communication for engaging employees remotely.
Leadership Effectiveness:
- As the Product Management business continues to experience significant transformation and growth, own and drive processes and execution plans, including follow through and related communications to enable successful leadership of the organization. Participate as a valued member of the Product Management leadership team and provide input to key strategic decisions. Assess current business rhythm and decision-making forums and provide recommendations for increasing effectiveness and the appropriate sequence/cadence. Ensure preparation and pre-work for Product Management leadership meetings are understood and executed in a coordinated way ensuring maximum productivity and follow-up/accountability measures are in place.
- Maximize the effectiveness of the SVP, Product Management by helping them balance priorities, communicate effectively, participate in the most relevant meetings and connect with the team.
Business Measurement:
- You will have accountability for tracking overall goals and KPIs for the Product Management Organization. This will include developing data and measurement standards, defining consistent measurement efforts that align to business outcomes and working with leaders to communicate progress against OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).
Business Integration:
- Drive cross-cutting strategic initiatives and provide thought leadership. This includes identifying issues that impede business group success and provide solutions/recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to create cross group collaboration and synergies. Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when working with leadership on sensitive business and organizational issues, manage ambiguity and propose workable solutions to challenging problems.
Business Process:
- Manage collaborative Product Management processes and ceremonies with key partners (Engineering, UX, Analytics, Business Groups). Build tools and resources, establish high standards, and drive engagement.
- Act as a key partner to Finance, HR, Strategy to ensure key processes and initiatives are aligned and coordinated. This includes effective budget management and planning, risk management efforts, support for organizational changes and initiatives as well as ensuring the Product Management team delivers accurate and timely inputs to the corporate planning process.

- Organization Skills: Builds partnerships, aligns difficult groups, builds consensus and trust, and keeps the pulse of a large group. Outstanding cross-group organization skills and agility.
- Operations Expertise: Ability to define and run effective, efficient and repeatable business processes. Desire to constantly improve and evolve systems through data, feedback and iteration.
You own this if you have...
- 10+ years of related experience (e.g., product mgmt., financial planning, project management, business process engineering in a technology-focused environment).
- Demonstrated success in formulating strategy and guiding implementation.
- Effective at driving complex multi-stakeholder processes and cross-team programs to desired results while managing risk.
- Successfully led large scale transformation/turnaround efforts.
- 5+ years of experience using product management processes and ceremonies.
- Demonstrated strong capability in verbal and written communications skills for a large, multi-discipline organization.
- Ability to create effective relationships, influence and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.
- A strong belief and experience in data-driven decision making, experience using OKRs (objectives and key results) preferred.
