This role ensures that the organization adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations concerning safety, environmental policies, and workplace health. The EHS Operations Manager works to foster a culture of safety, compliance, and risk management, driving continuous improvements in the safety of employees and environmental impact.

The EHS Operations Manager works to foster a culture of safety, compliance, and risk management, driving continuous improvements in the safety of employees and environmental impact.
Compensation Range
- $110,000 - $125,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations
- Implementation of EHS programs that are developed by EHS Planning Team at Port/VPC locations
- Ensure that the annual EHS objectives are met
- Provide training, resources, and tools to employees at Port/VPC locations to promote safe working practices
- Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO14001
- Identify potential health, safety, and environmental risks within operations and work on mitigation strategies
- Lead and manage site specific emergency response planning and preparedness for potential incidents
- Analyze accident data and develop preventative strategies and action plans
- Build a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization
- Provide ongoing training and development for staff to ensure they are up-to-date on EHS policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of all EHS activities, incidents, and audits
- Prepare and present regular reports to HoD on EHS performance, risks, and compliance status at Port and VPC locations
- Communicate EHS goals and initiatives clearly to Port/VPC locations
- Continuously evaluate existing EHS systems and suggest improvements to EHS Planning team to reduce risk, improve compliance, and ensure effectiveness
- Maintain industry knowledge via participation in seminars and course work
- Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
- Associate's Degree Required
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- 7- 10 Years of Experience in EHS Required
- 8-15 Years of Experience in Procurement, Contract Management, and/or Freight Forwarding Preferred
- Supervisory Experience Required
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards Required
- CSP, ASP, OHST, SMS certificate or license Preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
- Possibility of travel - 25%
