Senior Manager Engineering

Purpose of Position:
This position will be responsible for spearheading, overseeing and implementing any fresh cut fruits and/or vegetables technical projects in the North America region (i.e. Canada, U.S. and Mexico) in alignment with the business needs and setup of priorities, as related but not limited to efficiencies, manufacturing, food safety, refrigeration, buildings, lands. In this role, will also be responsible for preparing Project Initiation specifications and requirements.

Accountabilities:

• Lead project based initiatives across the region to support all technical projects required by the business, including compliance and adherence with country regulations and requirements.
• Supervises the performance of systems across the N.A. region such as, refrigeration systems, utilities systems, building equipment.
• Ensure that departmental employees are trained as required.
• Work with local maintenance managers to create logs and develop and institute SOP's.
• Conduct discovery for new project requests and production needs by interfacing with locations and vendors and developing a plan that will increase productivity, efficiency and reduce the dependency on manual labor.
• Work with Maintenance Managers on plant improvements, designs, and development of efficiencies of the mechanical systems.
• Assist in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years prior experience working with production line layouts, processes and related utilities such as; refrigeration plants, steam boilers, air compressors, generators and civil construction bases, fresh food processing equipment.
• At least 5 years prior experience in Engineering projects, utilizing Auto CAD.
• Knowledge and/or certification in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Food Safety Management Standards.
• Superior analytical, problem solving, negotiation and communication (i.e. verbal and written) skills.
• Flexibility to travel as needed.
• Ability to motivate team members toward achieving project goals.
• Good verbal/written communication skills.
• Prior experience managing employees.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and execute tasks efficiently and in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Be able to establish timelines with locations and vendors and implement Gantt chart.
• Strong analytical skill to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Capability to negotiate resources, scope and priorities with team members to align on project goals.
