Description:

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Facilities to oversee our U.S. sites (San Diego, CA, Branford, CT and Garnet Valley, PA) as well as involvement and coordination of EH&S programs. The successful candidate will have a strategic, roll up your sleeves mindset that enjoys working with both our internal team as well as external partners.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee the repairs, installations, and upkeep of facilities, equipment and offices.
  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work.
  • Assist in overseeing construction or other project activities to ensure attainment of budget and schedule objectives.
  • Collaborate in developing plans and programs responsive to present and anticipated space and facility requirements.
  • Oversee laboratory safety including chemical and biological safety, ensuring safety policies, risk, inspections and laboratory safety rules are followed.
  • Act as a main point of contact for all sites for alarms, maintenance and emergencies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate to ensure compliance with local, state and federal EH&S regulations (US DOL, OSHA, US EPA, US DOT, State regulatory agencies and related chemical compliance management).
  • Identify and assess risks throughout the facilities and develop and implement controls.
  • Build strong relationships and work with our landlords, partners, vendors such as cleaning crew, waste management, security, local/state/federal regulatory agencies and fire management.
  • Assist in driving EHS culture in San Diego.
  • Collaborating with site personnel to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Apply for all new EHS permits, renewals and complete and submit all required EHS reports and records.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors' degree (Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Applied Sciences, Engineering or similar major) and a minimum of 8 years' experience preferably in a laboratory environment with appropriate progression of increased responsibility or in Facilities Management and Preventative Maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects at multiple locations
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
  • Able to work without direction and exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with outside contacts
  • Experience with the development and implementation of EHS programs in cooperation with other experts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong results orientation and execution capability; excellent strategic and tactical thinking
  • Ability to travel 25-50% to our Offices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds


The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $140,000-$165,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual's skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
