We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics to join our Finance team. This role will be based at either our Toronto or Montreal Head Office. This role functionally reports to the VP, Finance - Financial Planning & Analysis but is primarily dedicated to Marketing and will work on a daily basis with the VP Marketing.

This is an on-site position.

Job Overview:

The Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of marketing activities through data-driven insights, financial tracking, and performance measurement. This role leads the development of marketing KPIs, reporting frameworks, and financial oversight to maximize ROI across all marketing initiatives. The Senior Manager also oversees budget tracking, marketing P&L reporting, and the continuous improvement of performance analytics.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Budget Management & Financial Oversight:
  • Oversee marketing budget tracking, including allocation to GLs, monthly credit card reconciliation, tracking actual vs. planned spend, and reforecasting.
  • Ensure financial discipline in marketing investments.
  • Propose and implement improvements to accounting process, GL structure, payment methods, etc.
  • Establish and manage monthly Marketing P&L reporting including analysis, liaising with Marketing Directors to derive root cause and consolidate explanations of variances, and continuous process and reporting improvements.

Marketing Performance & Analytics:
  • Analyze overall marketing performance against KPIs, providing actionable insights to improve results.
  • Define and implement a comprehensive marketing performance measurement framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Track, analyze, and report on ROI, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lead quality, conversion rates, and marketing funnel effectiveness, providing crucial insights to the marketing team.
  • Lead monthly regional marketing performance reviews, identifying trends and areas for optimization. Facilitate meetings, follow up on actions, drive and maintain rhythm of business.
  • Conduct brand marketing campaign impact analysis, evaluating effectiveness and engagement, including 123Dentist.com website performance.
  • Ensure monthly business development marketing funnel analysis, assessing lead quality, marketing effectiveness, and pipeline contribution, including partners.123dentist.com website performance.

Marketing Reporting & Business Intelligence (BI) Integration:
  • Define marketing reporting requirements and supervise implementation with the Business Intelligence (BI) team.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on new reports.
  • Support and advise the BI team with data access and data ecosystem design to enable new KPI's to be added to reports as needed.
  • Manage Marketing team adoption and utilization of Power BI and other reporting tools, providing training and insights.

Technology & Automation:
  • Work closely with the IT and Marketing teams to define data requirements for reporting purposes.
  • Setup and manage reporting with different tools as most appropriate (e.g. Looker Studio, AirTable, Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Manage the migration of such reports into Power BI environment at the appropriate time.
  • Leverage automation and analytics tools to improve forecasting, segmentation, and campaign targeting.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations.

Planning & Budgeting:
  • Manage the annual marketing planning process, definition of targets, clinics and corporate budgets, collaborating closely with the Regional Marketing Directors, Finance and Operations as required.
  • Manage the quarterly review and ongoing tracking of marketing spend.

Reporting:
  • Develop and lead the reporting to Senior Executives on marketing performance and ROI.
  • Lead the development and compilation of marketing slides for the quarterly Board of Director meetings.

Success Metrics for the Role:
  • Improved marketing ROI through data-driven budget allocation.
  • Increased marketing effectiveness measured by lead quality, conversion rates, and engagement.
  • Efficient budget tracking and financial reporting, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Enhanced campaign performance analytics, leading to better optimization and insights.
  • Adoption and utilization of marketing performance dashboards and BI tools.

Education, Credentials, Qualifications:
  • Degree in mathematics, statistics, data science or similar. MBA an asset. Additional certifications an asset (e.g. Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI).
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing performance, analytics, or financial planning within a marketing function.
  • Strong expertise in budget management, P&L reporting, financial modeling, and marketing analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Looker), Google Analytics, CRM platforms (e.g. MS Dynamics), and marketing automation tools (e.g. Click Dimensions).
  • Experience working with Big Data models, econometrics, statistical analysis (e.g. Random Forest, K-Means clustering, Partial Dependence Plots, T-tests) and multi-variate analysis.
  • Data hacking: coding ability (eg Python, SQL, R), API (eg JSON), cloud computing (eg MS Azure). Ability to find, access, normalize, import, use and interpret data
  • Proven ability to track and optimize multi-million-dollar marketing budgets.
  • Excel wizard, strong PowerPoint and data storytelling skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Experience in managing marketing planning processes and performance reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
