The Senior Manager of Procurement will lead a team of intermediate to experienced Procurement professionals, setting objectives and guiding others on RFPs, negotiation strategy, cost accountability, and/or program execution. Reviews prices, manufacturing processes, and contracts and makes recommendations for changes to ensure a successful procurement process.

Responsibilities:

• Manages a team of primarily intermediate or experienced supply chain professionals.
• Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with approximately 15 suppliers within the engineered items commodity.
• Manages execution of processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement strategy, including RFPs, negotiation strategy, cost accountability, and/or program execution.
• Reviews changes in price trends and manufacturing processes and makes recommendations to ensure successful procurement process.
• Manages resolution of client issues or problems.
• Oversees successful execution of supplier managed transitions
• Forecasts and mitigates risk around security of supply due to capacity or sub-tier vendor challenges
• Monitors and coordinates suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
• Authorizes purchase orders, negotiates prices and approves payments to support the procurement process in large territories.
• Reviews and assesses request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
• Analyzes and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to help determine need for changes.
• Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
• Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.
• May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.
• Sets objectives and guides others on execution/approach for achievement of operational results.
• Problems faced are difficult and involve consideration of multiple variables.
• Explains policies, practices, and procedures and may influence others.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the aerospace industry or directly for Collins Aerospace
• Experience working with supply chain and procurement
• Previous history managing employees
• Technical aptitude, ability to read blueprints, drawings & designs
• Project management exposure
• SAP experience
• Microsoft Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
