Caterpillar's Building Construction Products (BCP) division is on a journey to elevate and align quality standards across its global manufacturing network. As the Senior Manager of Quality, you'll play a key leadership role in designing and deploying consistent quality practices that enable scalable, reliable, and world-class product outcomes across 10+ international facilities. From BCP enterprise quality strategy to global governance, you'll define how quality is systematically engineered into our global operations.

This is a high-impact, BCP enterprise-level role for an experienced quality leader with a strong command of systems, process control, and risk management. This role carries significant global influence - serving as a functional leader and trusted advisor to embed quality into the DNA of how Caterpillar builds the next generation of products. Your work will directly shape the customer experience, ensuring that global teams are aligned to consistent standard in planning, inspection, documentation and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead the strategic and global standardization of quality management systems to ensure consistency and excellence across all BCP manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate quality objectives into broader business strategies, driving continuous process improvements that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Spearhead initiatives that develop and refine quality metrics, provide actionable insights, and drive decision-making at a global level.
  • Champion a culture of excellence in quality and safety by fostering collaboration and alignment across diverse teams and functions.
  • Act as the key architect in defining and implementing robust quality frameworks that support operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.


What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree (technical degree strongly preferred)
  • Quality Management:
    • Proven experience designing and implementing comprehensive quality systems in complex manufacturing environments.
    • Strong command of quality management tools, metrics, and methodologies.
  • Influencing:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams with a track record of shaping decisions and driving adoption of best practices without direct supervisory responsibilities.
    • Skilled at building consensus and driving alignment on quality priorities.
  • Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
    • Expert in advanced problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis, with a history of implementing effective corrective actions.
    • Able to coach teams in sustainable problem resolution.
  • Quality Risk Management:
    • Deep expertise in quality risk assessment and mitigation across the product lifecycle.
    • Experience in creating and maintaining risk-based quality frameworks.


Top Candidates Will Have:
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices and standards for improving the quality, effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of the design, production, and distribution of manufacturing products; ability to create and implement best practices and standards for various manufacturing processes and activities.
  • Global manufacturing experience, with the ability to navigate cultural, operational, and organizational complexities across international sites.
  • Advanced understanding of quality metrics, process capability, and inspection planning.
  • Experience leading quality transformation initiatives across multiple global manufacturing sites.


Additional Info:
  • Locations: Cary, NC; Clayton, NC; Sanford, NC or Athens, GA (strong preference towards Cary, NC).
  • Hybrid model: Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week of onsite, in office work. Subject to change based on business needs.
  • Travel: 40-50% domestic and international travel is expected.
  • Relocation: Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.
  • ISE: ISE assignments are not available.

Summary Pay Range:
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
