Summary
The Senior Manager of Operations Excellence is a leadership role reporting to VP, CISO. This role will be key in leading the operating model of the cybersecurity organization. This leader will drive efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement within the cybersecurity function along with design and optimize cybersecurity processes, implement performance metrics, and ensure operational resilience. They will collaborate across security, IT, and business teams to mature security operations, enhance risk management, and align cybersecurity with broader business objectives.

Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:
- Govern and manage the cybersecurity's team operating model
- Develop and refine cybersecurity operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices in automation, orchestration, and analytics to improve security operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.
Metrics, Reporting & Governance:
- Design and Implement a metrics platform centralizing all designated metrics.
- Define and track KPIs, SLAs, and OKRs to measure cybersecurity performance.
- Track and report organizational projects and initiatives driving outcomes by milestones
- Standardize security reporting for executive leadership, Board of Directors, regulatory bodies, and audit teams.
- Ensure cybersecurity operations align with compliance, risk, and governance frameworks.
Security Operations & Incident Management:
- Optimize Security Operations Center (SOC) processes, workflows, and response times.
- Drive improvements in threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Establish post-incident review processes to drive lessons learned and operational improvements.
Technology & Automation Optimization:
- Partner with security engineering teams to integrate automation, AI/ML, and advanced analytics into cybersecurity operations.
- Improve the efficiency of security tooling, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and cloud security platforms.
- Identify and implement new technologies to enhance cybersecurity resilience.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Partner with IT, risk management, and business stakeholders to align cybersecurity with business goals.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve cyber resilience, reducing risk, and operational maturity.
- Mentor and develop cybersecurity operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, operations, or IT with a strong focus on operational excellence.
- Proven leadership experience in security operations, governance, or risk management.
- Strong background in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL, Agile).
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK).
- Familiarity with security technologies (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, cloud security tools, vulnerability management).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive alignment across security, IT, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale, complex organizations or highly regulated industries.
- Expertise in cybersecurity automation and analytics.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position will not be responsible for managing a team or direct reports.
