What we're looking for: We are seeking a motivated professional responsible for managing peer review for one RSNA journal, including overseeing journal peer review team and queues; communicating manuscript statuses to Managing Editor and Editor: assigning peer reviewers; corresponding with authors, reviewers, and Deputy Editors; and suggesting improvements to workflow.

What you'll do:
Manage peer review process for one RSNA journal (Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging), overseeing staff, ensuring processing goals are met, managing workloads, and supporting staff growth. Provide backup for all aspects of the peer review workflow. Main point of contact for Editor and Managing Editor regarding peer review. Schedule and attend regular meetings. Proactively communicate manuscript statuses. Responsible for finding and inviting reviewers for manuscripts submitted through ScholarOne, working in conjunction with peer review managers. Ensure Deputy Editor meeting preparation and follow-up is completed. Proactively monitor queues and red-flag reports to ensure manuscripts are not overdue and send reminders to staff and editors as needed. Meet regularly with other Senior Peer Review Managers to ensure consistency among peer review practices. Suggest workflow improvements and work with Assistant Director to implement ScholarOne changes. Ability to run reports from peer review system as needed. Work on other projects as assigned

What you'll need:
- 3 to 5 years of experience with ScholarOne Manuscripts (or similar peer review system)
- Proficiency in current Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and analytic skills
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead projects
- Prior experience supervising/training staff preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, especially regarding cardiothoracic imaging a bonus
