Position: Senior Manager Planning & Scheduling
Location: Devens, MA

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction to the Devens site Maintenance Planning and Scheduling group in support of Biologics Manufacturing Operations and Cell Therapy operations.
  • Develops and implements robust systems and processes for the planning and scheduling group that align with current industry best practices.
  • Develops and implements the appropriate Key Performance Indicators required to effectively measure the performance of the planning and scheduling group as well as the maintenance and metrology teams.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective planning and scheduling of all maintenance and calibration work performed at the Devens campus.
  • Effectively prioritizes GxP and Safety Critical work while managing and controlling the maintenance work backlog.
  • Implement robust work management systems and processes that allow for the effective prioritization of work while utilizing a risk-based approach to managing the ready-to-work backlog.
  • Implement maintenance policies (such as repair or replace) and ensures all procedures and processes are in place before sending work for scheduling.
  • Accountable for making sure all planned work has robust job plans that include EHS permits, tools (including special tools or tools that need to be coordinated, like scaffolding), Parts/Material, among others, before any work is scheduled.
  • Tracks, trends, and evaluates performance metrics and takes actions as needed to improve processes and procedures to improve performance.
  • Owns feedback to planner program and will partner with the Asset Information Management to correct issues with job plans or systems within the CMMS system.
  • Develops and/or revises related SOPs or job plans/work plans for work-related areas.
  • Owns the planning of major and minor site outages, providing oversight and leadership to the planning organization to minimize the impact on operations.
  • Maintains close communication with key stakeholders in relation to the effectiveness of the planning program, via daily communication at Tier Meetings and Governance meetings.
  • Develops relationships with diverse groups across the client base at the Devens site. Work within a team environment with other Site Engineering functions, including Engineering and Plant Engineering in a matrix organization.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Knowledge of maintenance, operations, and/or engineering, attained through studies resulting in a B.S. in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in maintenance and/or metrology, engineering, planning & scheduling, or an equivalent field.
  • Experience leading teams within a large maintenance organization, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Maximo or similar.
  • Knowledge of biologics manufacturing, GMPs, and support disciplines and the basic principles of each.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and technical training requirements and associated processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Governing Building Codes, OSHA regulations, and Industry Regulations related to the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to perform well in a team-based environment.
  • Experience determining objectives of significant projects or assignments.
