This role is primarily an account management and growth role, responsible for cultivating excellent relationships with base accounts, growing our business with their product mix and uncovering meaningful projects that will result in significant new business for OSI. You will learn OSI's operational capabilities and become adept at connecting those to customer needs as you work to meet your assigned sales goals. There will also be opportunities to lead new customer acquisition and grow our customer base even broader.

Job Responsibilities

    • Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
    • Build and maintain effective long-term partnering relationships with customer leadership that provides the organization with a stable customer base and insight into future needs and related sales opportunities.
    • Develop new business with assigned target customers and build relationships with decision makers.
    • Develop excellent working relationships with the R&D and Process Teams as you work together to develop and commercialize new products.
    • Build effective internal relationships and work closely with leaders of other functions including, but not limited to, Operations, Finance, Commercialization, Supply Chain, and Legal to achieve sales goals.
    • Maintain files, records, and other documents created during the sales and marketing processes for use in developing reports for management.
    • Prepare a variety of routine and ad hoc reports for use by management for evaluating progress toward goals and identifying areas of opportunity.
    • Continuously review and analyze external market and competitor trends as well as internal manufacturing capability to ensure continued alignment between sales plans and environment; make and communicate adjustments to plans and strategies as needed.
    • This role has the responsibility to understand and place in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


Experience & Skills

    • 5-10 years of experience in related field (Sales and Business/Brand Management) is preferred.
    • 5 years of National Account management experience preferred
    • Experience in manufacturing environments preferred (Operations/FSQA).
    • Experience in working with customers in developing custom formulations is a requirement
    • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
    • Must have a solid understanding of customer relationship management.
    • Strong Financial acumen.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • High level of written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
    • Experience with a manufacturing company is a plus.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, externally with customers and internally with all levels of management.


Education

  • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.


Work Environment

  • Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.


  • Work conditions are typical of an office environment.


  • This role requires 30%+ domestic travel.


  • Working from home is an option.


  • Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds.


  • Position may require frequent and/or infrequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls, and standing/walking on concrete flooring.


  • Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours.
