ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Manager or Senior Advisor, Analytics and Model Management, you'll report to the Senior Director, Analytics and Model Management. The Senior Manager/Senior Advisor, Model Advisory will play a critical role in overseeing the governance and advisory of quantitative models used at PSP Investments. This position involves ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all models within PSP Model Governance Frameworks scope. The incumbent will lead or participate in internal model governance processes to identify model risks and ensure compliance with PSP's model risk management policy.
The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to manage model risk and provide strategic insights into model performance and valuation. Additionally, you will be part of a quantitative team responsible for derivative model research, market value valuation and/or oversight, and governance of the organization's models. The incumbent will be a thought-leader within the team, regularly leading initiatives to enhance team and sector analytics capacities and working closely with various transversal groups supporting investment activities on common regulatory and internal projects.

As a Senior Manager or Senior Advisor, Analytics and Model Management, you'll:
- Participate in the implementation and improvement of evaluation systems by ensuring that methodologies are in line with industry best practices and by proposing relevant solutions
- Oversee the validation of models to ensure they meet the required standards and are robust and fully validated. This includes working closely with external validators and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- As well as performing validation work to assess the conceptual soundness of internally and externally developed quantitative models, covering data verification, model design, model assumptions, weaknesses and limitations, model performance and documentation, and risk assessment of models and their implementations
- In collaboration with the portfolio managers, develop quantitative/statistical analyses that will provide them with relevant information for decision making
- Develop the necessary tools to monitor investment strategies
- Meet the specific needs of the investment teams and management to support their activities
- Advocate within key cross-functional committees for appropriate capture and management of market transactions for new and existing financial products, which is essential for accurate day-to-day assessment
- Maintain close relationships with various stakeholders including the Risk Management team, traders, fund managers and the Investment Administration team
- Further develop your knowledge and stay abreast of developments and operations in the financial markets
- Collaborate on initiatives to enhance or overhaul valuation and business intelligence systems and workflows to extract insights into key drivers of performance and potential investment risks
- Keep abreast of developments in the industry and seek opportunities to apply them within the mandate
- Actively participate in any other project and/or operational tasks to support the team mandate
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Masters' degree in financial engineering or a related area of study
- If selected as Senior Manager, proven relevant experience managing a team
- At least eight (8) years of experience in the capital markets industry in a similar role
- Strong understanding of derivatives instruments valuation, including trade lifecycle events
- Experience in model risk management, model validation or model development
- Advanced knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies
- Ability to query and manipulate datasets (e.g., via Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, Excel)
- Programming skills (primarily Python, SQL or equivalent)
- Relevant professional designation (PRM, FRM, CFA, CQF, etc.) considered an asset
- Experience with business intelligence systems (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau) considered an asset
- Proficiency with market data providers, (i.e., Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE Data Services, etc.) considered an asset
- Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy
- Demonstrated initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts and conduct comprehensive, fact-based, value-added research
- Attention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation
- Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
