POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer owns the manufacturing process for their assigned areas. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer also ensures manufacturing processes are safe, produce quality product on time and meets cost targetsThe job scope will range from day-to-day support to implementation of new products and processes.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer also ensures manufacturing processes are safe, produce quality product on time and meets cost targetsThe job scope will range from day-to-day support to implementation of new products and processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Be the process expert for assigned areas of responsibility and support day-to-day production as required.
- Be a coach and teacher for the production operators.
- Create and properly maintain process documentation, including work instructions, PFMEA's, Control plans, process drawings, etc.
- Optimize all aspects of existing production processes, prioritizing and actively addressing safety issues.
- Manage Capex projects from identification through justification, implementation, and validation.
- Manage all aspects of durable and perishable tooling required for production.
- Create and properly manage BOMS and routings.
- Responsible work measurement to accurately determine capacity and costs.
- Responsible for making process improvements to eliminate scrap, rework and returns to reduce COPQ.
- Work with product development teams to ensure new products transition efficiently to the shop floor and achieve planned profit.
- Properly deploy lean tools and practices throughout operations. Standards work, 5S, TPM, VRK and VSM.
- Interface with other departments and functions as required to achieve goals and objectives.
REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial). Will also consider Associate's degree in technical discipline with other relevant qualifications.
- 7-12 years industry experience in machining is required; experience with cutting/rolling threads and grinding is preferred.
- A proven record of developing capable manufacturing processes is required.
- A proven record of solving difficult problems and improving processes is required.
- Experience in CNC programming and Solidworks are highly desirable.
- Experience with the proper deployment of Lean Manufacturing tools and practices is highly desirable.
- Must be able to work across organizational functions and generate results without direct reporting relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience with Minitab is highly desirable.
