Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and analyzing innovative temporary heating solutions using proprietary jet engine technology and related components. The engineer will ensure that designs meet rigorous safety and performance standards through research, design, prototyping, and testing processes, utilizing advanced engineering principles and computer-aided design tools.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Design & Analysis:
  • Develop detailed designs of jet engine heat systems and related components using CAD software.
  • Perform analyses to ensure design integrity and performance.
  • Solve complex engineering problems using theoretical modeling techniques.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Select materials for jet heater construction based on wear resistance, strength, and thermal properties.
  • Identify and resolve design issues using a calculated, systematic approach.

Prototyping & Testing:
  • Create test prototypes and validate components or assemblies.
  • Conduct functional tests to evaluate prototype performance, durability, and compatibility.
  • Perform testing in R&D facilities and on-site environments across the US and Canada.
  • Build physical prototypes based on design specifications, testing, and iteratively refining designs to meet performance criteria.
  • Inspect finished tools for dimensional tolerances, accuracy, and surface finish to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Engage in hands-on work, including using hand tools; familiarity with CNC milling, lathes, welding, etc., is preferred but not required.

Team Atmosphere:
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, managers, and other specialty teams.
  • Participate in technical interchanges, project planning, design reviews, and meetings.
  • Provide technical support to other engineers, technical staff, and customers.

Documentation:
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and documentation.
  • Create 2D CAD drawings for manufacturing and vendor support.
  • Produce technical design documents to assist manufacturing in production.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required (PhD preferred).
  • Valid US passport or equivalent required.
  • 5-10 years of experience with 3D CAD software design.
  • SolidWorks experience preferred.
