Job Description

Our Senior Merchandising Manager- Outdoors is responsible for merchandising initiatives and projects in both Wholesale and Retail business units across our well-known brands: Therma-Tru Larson, Fiberon, Fypon and Solar Innovations. This includes responsibility for planning and overseeing the deployment of respective merchandising go-to-market strategies by supporting key product launches, strategic programs, identifying project scope, developing timelines, providing status reporting, and prioritizing day-to-day operational tasks across internal and external teams. The ideal candidate for this role will effectively and strategically manage these initiatives to drive customer engagement and brand experience across various channels and customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Employ various merchandising disciplines to create best-in-class consumer experiences across a variety of channels (Wholesale Dealer Showrooms, Retailers, Builder Design Centers, Internal Sales Teams, and In-Home Selling); leverage traditional merchandising and emerging technology to create an optimal experience.
  • Organize, coordinate and execute merchandising initiatives to position the Outdoors business at a competitive advantage, drive product upgrades, and gain discretionary business.
  • Oversee project-specific merchandising requirements, including the management, execution, installation, and maintenance of program rollouts.
  • Serve as project manager for various merchandising-related activities, including communicating project timetables, meeting deadlines, budgeting, and securing approvals.
  • Manage outside agencies and suppliers from development through execution, including concept development, use of materials, technical drawings, and overall external communication.
  • Collaborate across functional areas (Sales, Channel Marketing, Category Management, Market Research, Supply Chain/Operations, and Finance) to gain alignment and engagement on execution of projects.
  • Evaluate marketing programs (in conjunction with Channel Marketing), analyze results to prove Return on Investment (ROI), and provide future recommendations.
  • Ensure timely workflow and communication of project status to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all merchandising aligns with FBIN's global brand standards.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a consumer products marketing environment inclusive of a minimum of 1 year of merchandising management experience is required; previous agency and supplier management experience is preferred.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience working with external vendors and agency partners.
  • Creative, curious mind with a strong ability to think critically.
  • Ability to function within and/or lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to implement tactics and initiatives, manage multiple projects and tasks and adapt to changes along the way.
  • Demonstrated perseverance in pursuit of objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with and present to management.
  • Minimal travel (less than 10%).

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $70,000 USD - $98,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
