Our highly respected metal stamping & injection molding company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Molding Tooling Engineer to be a member of the Mold Engineering Team, focusing on supporting new programs, trouble shooting, and Scientific Rheology practiced getting new molds/molding production ready and profitable.
This position can be located in Elk Grove Village, IL or East Hanover, NJ with the ability to travel 20% of the time to our corporate headquarters.

Our highly respected metal stamping & injection molding company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Molding Tooling Engineer to be a member of the Mold Engineering Team, focusing on supporting new programs, trouble shooting, and Scientific Rheology practiced getting new molds/molding production ready and profitable.
This position can be located in Elk Grove Village, IL or East Hanover, NJ with the ability to travel 20% of the time to our corporate headquarters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit Part & Mold 3d models on a timely basis using Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Able to read 2d drawings and understand GDT requirements.
- Mold Design capabilities a plus, to create Preliminary Design layout for suppliers to quote.
- Create Feasibility, DFM to customers on a timing basis.
- Create MoldFlow capabilities a plus, if not take class to get certified ASAP.
- Support New Business Development, interacting with customers technical molding and tooling questions, improvements, and cost savings ideas.
- Workup Molding quote worksheets on a timely basis to customer expectations and to follow Weiss-Aug quote profitability and quote standards.
- Assist instructing Molding Toolroom problem solve problems.
- Work with tooling, resin and components suppliers for best cost, best lead time and quick on-time response.
- Work with internal Weiss-Aug Automation, Stamping and any other internal departments to assist when required for technical and pricing.
- Development new Mold Tooling and Component suppliers for quoting best price, quality and on time response.
- Support internal Project Engineering APQP on new projects and current production regarding molding and mold tooling questions and supplier timing.
- Monitor and audit mold suppliers to insure on time tool build delivery and T2/T3 samples. Support any questions on a timely basis not to jeopardize timing. Review with supplier's tool questions and continues improvements.
- Support Production Molding and Tooling from Mold and associated Tooling arrival to PPAP submission and until Customer approval. Ensure molds and molding process is production ready, using Weiss-Aug documents. Support DOE's and Medical IQ, PQ, OQ.
- Workup Molding Tooling RFQs to mold outside suppliers for resin, metal, and components and supplying proper drawings, processes, to ensure best price and delivery and submitting mold specification sheet to suppliers on a timely basis.
- Attend trade shows that will and can improve job knowledge and performance.
- Investigation attending job training internally or outside service to improve working knowledge related to our industry.
- Interact with PCNC & Wire for rework modifications.
- Support TS and ISO standards throughout Engineering and Manufacturing.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience Tooling and Process Engineering for Injection Molding
- Must be capable of Directing Mold Tooling Projects internally with suppliers on-time delivery and managing the mold designs.
- Requires a 2-yr technical degree or equivalent formal training.
- Must be capable editing Solid Works 3D and 2D AutoCAD files.
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical documents.
- Requires understanding of ANSI/ISO, drawing standards and GD&T dimensioning.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to both technical, non-technical employees, suppliers, and customers.
