Summary
The Senior National Manager - EHS position will oversee the Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) department with the objective of sustaining process drive, safe work sites to avoid EHS issues, which include prevention of injuries, environmental degradation, and health risk.
Responsibilities
- Primary Duties
- Assess company EHS standards and goals and develop and implement enhancements where needed
- Assess safety training programs and ensure training is to standard
- Provide guidance and direction on EHS departmental functions, i.e. auditing, training, incident investigation, tools, policies, and procedures, and methods designed to drive the EHS culture through incumbent's expertise in EHS standards, programs, and goals
- Liaise when needed between the company, insurance carriers, and regulatory agencies to provide assistance and resolution on audits, remedial actions, and other EHS related matters
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures across all departments and locations
- Oversee inspections and audits to identify and assess risks and put corrective actions in place to eliminate/minimize them
- Provide guidance, direction, and feedback to department members, monitoring performance, and course correcting as needed
- Set Objectives and KPI considering benchmarking
- Secondary Duties
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to EHS performance, environmental metrics, and sustainability initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings, trends, and areas for improvement
- Execute reporting for notice of department activity and planning
- Oversee business planning budgeting setting and compliance for Headcount, Investment, and Administrative
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the organization's environmental impact, conserve resources, and promote sustainable practices
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and recycling programs
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainability principles into business operations and decision-making processes
- Tertiary Duties
- Maintain industry knowledge via participation in seminars, conferences, and course work

Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills with direct reporting and matrixed environments, including cultural awareness, engagement, relationship building, and managing sensitive matters required
- Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and effectively prioritize with minimal guidance required
- Expertise in OSHA and other regulatory requirements required
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, written, and oral to ensure clear and concise messaging to key stakeholders and the employee population required
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to collaborate across sites and departments required
- Experienced in ESG programs preferred
- Ability to anticipate and identify potential issues to address early to mitigate or prevent required
- Ability to make difficult decisions under pressure required
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Master Degree Preferred
- 10+ Years of Direct Experience in EHS Required
- Experience in ESG Preferred
- 7 - 10+ Years of Supervisory Experience Required
- Extensive Knowledge of OSHA Standards Required
- CSP, ASP, OHST, and/or SMS Preferred
