The Senior Network Administration will support existing internal customers and help drive the growth of our dynamic environment. We are seeking an IT professional interested in being part of an active team, and who can handle multiple concurrent projects. The successful candidate has a desire to continue to grow their knowledge and skills through ongoing technical training, certification, and hands on experience. The Senior Network Administrator will work with a variety of internal customers, vendors and contractors, providing day-to-day support as well work on project driven tasks.

Employee will be required to respond during off-duty hours on an on-call rotational basis.
  • Plans, configures and installs various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, servers, cloud services, printers, wireless access points).
  • Writes documentation for network operations functions, creates and maintains network diagrams and other pertinent written information.
  • Plans and performs network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
  • Regularly monitors network performance and system resource utilization. Identifies and remedies network performance bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, servers, storage, VoIP telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
  • Lead the implementation and management of all video surveillance systems including equipment, hardware, software and networking.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Also participates in the maintenance of servers, PCs, tablets, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Researches, identifies, and evaluates new products and services within the IT field.
  • Create or work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel as needed for problem resolution.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions and approves where applicable.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks of Hamilton County's policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance, and works outside of normal schedule as required.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal office working conditions. The primary work location is Winton Centre, 10245 Winton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. Travel to other park locations is included in this position.
  • Working conditions occasionally typical of outdoor work with external IT and data related systems including occasional exposure to seasonal weather conditions and possible inclement weather.
  • Employee regularly lifts items up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lifts items up to 75 pounds.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of: Layer 2 VPLS configuration and maintenance; routing, switching, firewalls, VLAN's, UPS's, etc. Network infrastructure and protocols; network security, access control and management; wireless access points; network monitoring and performance tuning; computer hardware and software including, but not limited to, Cisco IOS, Apple IOS and OS X, Meraki, Microsoft Windows and Server, M365, VMware, Veeam, VoIP telephone systems, security, principles and practices of communication infrastructure; recent developments in the field of information technology; personal computer hardware and software; email; internet; network printers.

Knowledge of PCI compliance for networking preferred.

Skill in: Evaluating the networking needs of the company and recommending purchases and upgrades. Maintaining high availability for business systems. Design and configuration of network disaster recovery, resiliency plans, security, backup and restore plans. Designing, planning, implementing, troubleshooting, and repairing network hardware and software problems; advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; preparing comprehensive records and reports; planning and understanding abstract and technical concepts; project management; application of job-related software; oral and written communication; works independently with limited supervision or with multiple individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in the Information Technology field. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in another major but with network certifications is acceptable. Minimum of seven years enterprise network experience with high level of proficiency is required.

Technical skills: Brings to the position and maintains an advanced understanding of the Internet and its workings including, but not limited to, IP Routing, Cisco firewall, Cisco and Meraki switches, Security, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM and LAN.

Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

State Driver License that meets current GPHC carrier guidelines.
