JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Network Engineer position is responsible for the development, implementation and support of all of Mason Companies' networks and cloud connectivity.
This position leverages IT solutions and technologies that enable Mason's business objectives and strategy achievement. This position requires building strong relationships within IT and business areas across multiple divisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONBILITIES:
Optimizes network infrastructure by designing system configuration, installation, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Designs and executes short and long-term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity meets current needs and scales to future requirements.Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems, performing root-cause analysis on outages, scheduling upgrades, collaborating with team on network optimization. Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access. Updates job knowledge by participating in job-supplied training, as well as using networks of resources. Research new products, enhance configuration standards and best practices and educate team members on these products and services. Schedules off-hour upgrades and projects to prevent business interruption. Reports network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, managing projects. Works with and supports external vendors on connectivity services. Works with IT peers and management team to employ analysis and design techniques to identify common issues. Develops and maintains processes based on best practices and standards.Develops and maintains standards for the effective and sustainable delivery and support of IT infrastructure.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Network Communications and/or a minimum of 5 years of Network Administration in enterprise environments. Experience in designing high-availability enterprise networks with multiple locations and data centers. Experience with connecting cloud solutions with on-premises data centers. Solid decision-making and problem-solving skills. Experience with routing, multilayer switching, firewalls, and virtual private networks. Experience with wireless designs, installations, site surveys, and troubleshooting.
