Position Summary: The Senior Network Equipment Specialist position designs, installs, and can maintain communications networks. Deliverables include specifications, and inspection reports to ensure these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice and client objectives. This position is involved technically in electronics, building powering, HVAC, and associated equipment. This position has client contact at management level and has responsibility for contract terms and adherence to the budget.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Design, install, and configure voice, video, and data communication systems.
  • Responsible for Client contract SOW content and adherence to the budget.
  • Prepare and present to client and stakeholders on topics such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, or property and right-of-way descriptions.
  • Review and propose change orders and options with the client and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide engineering leadership and technical assistance to level I and II team members.
  • Provide calculations and records in support of all site engineering activities.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art design and test programs.
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Minimum 7 years technical knowledge and experience in telecommunications field.
  • Four-year engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Working experience and education certificates for telecom manufacturers such as Calix, Adtran, Ciena, Cisco, and others in the industry.

Preferred:
  • Advanced engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Experience with USDA's Rural Utilities Service (RUS).


Licenses, Certifications, Training Requirements:
  • A valid motor vehicle driver's license in good standing is required. No DWI/DUI convictions (the previous number of years will be determined by the state in which the license is obtained).


Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors:
  • Flow of work involves normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination much of the time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Location (Office, Field, Hybrid, Remote):
  • Remote, preferred location is within the Central US.


Travel:
  • Travel approximately 30% of the time.
