Senior OAS/ODI Developer

Overview

ILS is looking for a Sr. ODI/OAS Developer to support one of our projects in Washington, DC. This resource will be responsible for designing Enterprise-level solutions for multi-dimensional databases, will design and plan BI solutions, execute strategies for database backup, and provide documentation implementation and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Understand database design, programming concepts, data modeling, and framework management
• Design, develop, and test advanced complex ETL/ELT solutions
• Automate a robust data loading processes with exception handling and notification.
• Support the project team throughout the design, development and testing process.
• Identify and reuse of ETL components and services to avoid duplicative implementations.
• Communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical people in all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of ETL architecture
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database, SQL and analytical skills
• Designing and developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) toolset.
• Collaborating with business analysts and business users to gather ETL requirements translating them into technical specifications.
• Developing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation related to ETL processes and data integration workflows.
• Performing unit testing and supporting system testing and user acceptance testing phases.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data integration processes.
• Create/maintain reports using Oracle Analytics Server (OAS)
• Sound knowledge on Data warehousing principles (dimensional and normalized modeling concepts) and Problem solving
• Desirable knowledge on ODI Architecture and development in medium to large scale data warehouse environments
• Knowledge of performance tuning of SQL queries
• Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional areas such as finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts.
• Develop block diagrams and logic flow charts.
• Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
• Enhance ELT/ELT process to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience, of which at least 5 years must be "specialized"
• Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience as a data warehouse/database developer on medium to large-scale data warehouse environments
  • Knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and ability to develop complex ETL/ELT code to satisfy design objectives
  • Strong SQL/PL-SQL knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or under only general direction
• Experience in using:
  
  • Oracle database (12c/19c)
  • Logical/Physical Data Modeling
  • Oracle Data Integrator tool (must possess strong skills)
  • Proven experience as an Oracle ODI Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) toolset, including ODI Studio, ODI Console, and ODI Agent.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and performance tuning techniques.
  • Strong experience with Oracle databases (SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Ability to design and implement Oracle Apex applications from scratch as well as customize existing applications.
  • Experience developing with Python.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enterprise Data Warehouse Reports and Dashboard (OBIEE+/OAS)
  • ETL/ELT tools like ODI, Informatica, any reporting tools (PowerBI)
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Must be strong in SQL and PL/SQL
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline is required.
