Senior Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to provide essential rehabilitation services at our established health facility. This role focuses on enhancing the lives of our elderly and frail population through personalized occupational therapy. The successful candidate will join a dynamic interdisciplinary team (IDT), working both at our center and in home-based settings to promote independence, safety, and optimal functioning in daily activities. This position offers a compelling package including a competitive salary, bonuses, and full relocation support.

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed Occupational Therapy assessments to identify care needs, preferences, and goals of participants, contributing significantly in IDT meetings for care plan development.
  • Implement and document Occupational Therapy interventions following physician orders and care plans, employing devices and techniques to enhance motor skills and cognitive functions.
  • Supervise and train Therapy Assistants, ensuring effective implementation of Functional Maintenance Programs (FMP).
  • Design and conduct training for staff, participants, and caregivers/families on Occupational Therapy techniques applicable to their interaction with participants.
  • Coordinate care transition and end-of-life support activities across various settings like hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and homes in collaboration with other IDT members.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA & ACOTE accredited program.
  • At least two years of professional experience in occupational therapy, working with a frail or elderly population.
  • Valid registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as required by the state of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of supervisory experience with a proven track record in mentoring and team development.

Skills:
  • Strong assessment and planning skills in therapeutic care.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and patients.
  • Ability to manage and train staff in implementing complex care programs.
  • Skilled in coordinating with various healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
