About the role:
As a Senior Accountant, you'll be part of a team working on month end activities including account reconciliations, consolidation, analysis and reporting, including monthly financial reports for internal stakeholders. Your role would include understanding the financial performance and putting forth recommendations to improve business efficiency.
You'll ensure financials controls are established, policies are adapted and implemented and contribute to process improvements. Facilitating the audits for the department would be a part of the role.
For business as usual, your role would include month end consolidations of financial statements, handling intercompany transactions, reviewing accounts in line with IFRS standards and drafting accounting memos.
This is a full-time contractual (FTC) role for 18 months, reporting to the Finance Manager.
Who we're looking for:
As an ideal candidate you would be a designated qualified accountant with at least 5+ years experience in accounting and working knowledge of IFRS and month end closing / reconciliations. Your experience in an accounting firm and industry would be an added advantage. Your strong financial know how, experience in working with medium to big ERP systems and reporting of financial performance would be essential.
Your strong communication and stakeholder relationships, resilience and agility would set you apart.
Having worked in a fast paced team would be a plus.
This role would have a hybrid approach with at least 2 days a week, in the Vancouver office.
